Artist History In the 1980s, the world was introduced to a young singer from Brooklyn, New York, simply named ALISHA. At the tender age of 15, ALISHA recorded a song that would take her from ordinary 'high school student' to an international radio and club phenomenon! The song was called, "ALL NIGHT PASSION." Embraced by radio and discotheques the world over, ALISHA's debut single went to #3 on Billboard Magazine's Dance Chart, and would prove to stand the test of time as "THE ULTIMATE CLUB ANTHEM!" ALISHA discovered the world outside of Brooklyn, when she flew to Germany to film her very first music video for "ALL NIGHT PASSION." With the song's success, ALISHA was in high demand to perform in notorious discotheques such as STUDIO 54, THE RED PARROT, THE ROXY and FUNHOUSE, all while she was still in high school! A year later, ALISHA proved that she was indeed an artist to be reckoned with, when her 2nd single, "TOO TURNED ON" was released and hit the TOP 5 once again on the Billboard Dance Music Chart! More club dates, radio, television shows and photo shoots ensued, and the demand for more music was so grand, that ALISHA was given the opportunity to record her very first full-lengthed album, entitled, "ALISHA." ALISHA delivered a 'one-two punch' when she released her debut album, and her 3rd hit, entitled, "BABY TALK" which would go all the way to #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart and reach TOP 40 on the Pop Chart in the USA, and in countries worldwide, while ALISHA was all of 17 years old! "BABY TALK" went on to earn ALISHA a nomination for BEST DANCE ARTIST with fellow artist MADONNA, at the New York Music Awards, and was also featured on a TV episode of "MOONLIGHTING" starring Bruce WIllis and Cybil Shepard! With her 3rd single and debut album already a bonafide hit, ALISHA was invited to do an exstensive tour of Europe that would include stops in Holland and France, where she had already become a household name! Returning Stateside, still on the top of the charts, "BABY TALK" caught the attention of songwriter, Diane Warren, who wrote for some of the biggest names in show business. Ms. Warren was looking for a fresh, young talent to record a song that she had written for a major motion picture: The song was called "DO YOU DREAM ABOUT ME" and was featured in its entirety in the 1987 hit movie,."MANNEQUIN", starring Kim Catrall and Andy McCarthey. 1987 also saw the release of ALISHA's 2nd album, entitled "NIGHTWALKIN" on RCA Records. The album spawned the club and radio hits, "Into My Secret", "Let Your Heart Make Up Your Mind" and "I Don't Know What Comes Over Me." Alisha hit the road once again with her record's release, making a stop in Italy to do a benefit concert with fellow superstar, Vanessa Williams, as well as to film the video for "I Don't Know What Comes Over Me." Back in the USA, ALISHA performed on TV shows such as "The Rick Dees Show" and "Live With Regis and Kathy Lee", and began recording songs for her 3rd album, "BOUNCE BACK" which was released on MCA Records. The title track went on to be a big club and radio hit here in the US, and the album featured songs written by ALISHA, MARTIKA of "TOY SOLDIERS" fame, and was produced by hitmaker, Michael Jay. Following the success of her 3rd album, ALISHA released the catchy dance track, "WHEREVER THE RHTYHM TAKES ME" and continued to do guest spots on television shows, as well as taking her club act on the road once again. Most recently, ALISHA recorded the title track to the 1999 movie "SUPERSTAR...DARE TO DREAM!" starring Saturday Night Live's Molly Shannon. The song, "You Wanna Be A Star (Superstar)" was produced by Jellybean Benitez, and can also be found on the movie's soundtrack. Currently, ALISHA is still riding high on all of her success, doing club dates from NYC to MIAMI, and is in the midst of a new project which is, no doubt, anxiously anticipated by all of ALISHA's loyal fans worldwide!
