Artist description
With radio friendly melodies and strong, catchy hooks, Lara Halidae’s debut CD I’D FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU AGAIN takes you on a musical journey through styles ranging from the alt/pop SWEET EMOTION to the gentle folk sound of VIRGINIA to the Jazzy, Eclectic CANDY. Combining Lara’s love for sweet acoustical sounds and her need for a deep emotional connection to her songwriting, the album is both lighthearted and deep, soulful and sweet. Her sound is along the same vein as Tori Amos and Sarah McLaughlin.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, USA, Lara is a singer/songwriter and guitarist with an alt/pop/folk sound. Raised in Dayton, Ohio, she left at 17 to attend The Ohio State University and it was at OSU that she picked up the guitar and began entertaining her roommates with a variety of songs to break up the monotony of long study sessions and intense course work. Subsequently, the record collection of a good friend cemented her obsession with music by introducing her to many yet unheard female singer/ songwriters including Tori Amos, Harriet Wheeler (The Sundays), and Margo Timmins (Cowboy Junkies).
Thus began the transition from listener to singer and after a few years studying Opera with the renown Russian vocalist Lyudmila Smirnov she began performing and singing in various bands in and around Ohio. On a friend’s advice she met studio engineer Tom Boyer, and so began the recording of Lara’s debut album I’D FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU AGAIN. Released early summer 2003, the album was produced by Lara and Tom and what a beautiful recording it is.
The reaction to the album has been extremely positive, gaining airplay on College as well as many National Commercial Radio Stations including:
WPKN (89.5FM Bridgeport, Conn)
WCBE (90.5FM Columbus, Ohio)
WORT (89.9FM Madison, Wisconsin)
WAER (88.3FM Syracuse, NY)
WWCD (101.1FM Columbus, Ohio)
as well as many others. Her CD has also been reported to CMJ as #1 for weekly spins for several stations including WPKN Radio in Connecticut.

“The songs are memorable and radio friendly. …it is a breath of fresh air to hear the simplicity of these melodies in a world of high-tech sounds. I’ve reviewed a lot of CD’s and this is one of my all time favorites.”
