Artist description
In June 2002, Rick Pauw began planning to record a CD of songs that he had written over the previous five years. He also expressed his desire to treat this as a community project, feeling that if some of his musical friends would be willing to share their gifts of music to produce a CD, Rick would be happy to send proceeds from sales to Circles of Support and Accountability, a Mennonite Central Committee Restorative Justice Initiative. A collaboration of classical, folk and rock musicians was formed to record the songs.
These reflective songs are a celebration of God's grace and the mysterious way that Grace often reveals itself when we undergo struggle, or loss or human connection. The CD is called Hope Rising because in in one form or another hope rises in each song whether the song expresses wonder, doubts, loss or the longing for peace. As long as there's hope, there's hope. |
