Artist History
Out of the bowels of Southern Illinois emerged Horace Jenkins and the international Orchestra. HJiO, for short was originally the brainchild of Sam Cremeens when he told aspiring singer/ songwriter to get in touch with his musical genius of a brother Booger and talk about making some music together. The rest is history. With Sam on the drums, Aaron at vocals, and Booger lending his musical genius to everything else the force known as HJiO was enviable.
Contrary to popular opinion, HJiO is not named after the NBA basketball player Horace Jenkins. Aaron put it this way, "Horace is sorta my alter-ego. He's the person I am when I write. He's the person that I want to be on stage. And, to be quite honest, I'd like to be him 24-7. He has no control over anything around him, sorta like me, but unlike me... he has an exit in writing music. He is my angst, he's all of my hate, and all of my aggression rolled up in one. If I didn't have Horace, I'd probably go ape somewhere and kill A LOT of people."
Unfortunately, HJiO broke up in late 2002 when Aaron Varble, the band's song writer and lead singer moved to Eastern Kentucky, Sam became addicted to porn and they had to kick him out and Booger forgot how to play the G-chord on the guitar. But the legend lives on… |
