Artist History
--As 9th graders in New York, several of us formed a band called The Kings Cross. I played drums and though we sounded terrible - we had fun. For the next many years, I fumbled along learning drums, bass and guitar. Later, while studying at UC Berkeley I spent 2 years as a DJ at KALX-FM - 90.7 FM, and played guitar with a variety of Bay Area musicians. - After school I moved south to Santa Barbara where Chris Francklyn and I founded The Garage Band. -- At the beginning of the 90s I headed to San Diego where THE 70th STREET BAND (featuring Jammin'Joe Burke/harmonica, Dan Grodecki/drums and Bad Brad on guitar) was formed. -- During 4 trips, I've backpacked around Asia for nearly 2 years - nearly always carrying either a guitar or mandolin. Recently, I was in Morrocco and had the good fortune to be in on some inspirational drum jams with Berber tribesmen. --These days I'm spending most of my creative time working with Logic - PC in my studio at home. --Along with playing music, I've been a professional photographer for most of my working years. My camera has brought me literally to the feet of the greatest performers of our time including Sanatana, the Stones, Patti Smith, The Who, The Dead, Dylan, Herbie Hancock, McCartney, U2, Bowie, Chuck Berry, Tom Petty, Ozzy, James Brown, Bruce as well as musicians from far away places. I like to think that some of the joy of their creation rubbed off. |
