Norine Braun has been writing songs, music and lyrics, for over a decade. Her repertoire ranges from ethereal, reflective moods to sizzling bluesy rock that test the limit of popular music. She is inspired by the struggle to find meaning in the human experience. Her lyrics, although provocative, do not lose touch with her whimsical nature.
After winning Factor’s new talent Demo award Norine independently released her first original cd, “Modern Anguish”, in the autumn of 1996.“Miles To Go”, her second original collection contains both sophisticated musings and simple pinings, exploring the darker undercurrents of her psyche.“ Crow” is a departure into dreamland and the eclectic soundscapes defying the typical pop album sound. Her genrebending cd’s were released independently and her first 3 cd’s have been A James Bowers Production.
“Norine Braun and the Mood Swings”is a bluesy romp with a few surprises. Recorded live on the web, capturing the essence of her live act and was produced by Norine in association with her band and mixed by James Bowers. Nominated as CD of the year 2003 on KWEEVAK.com
The song Dancing Sea from her debut cd is featured on the tv series Wings Over Canada as were the songs Miles To Go and Goodbye Caramel. Norine”s song Watching Shadows is used in the David Kopp film Internicine.Norine Braun is played on CBC, and numerous college and university radio stations throughout Canada and the US.
