Artist History
Started out in `95 as the Fruit Eating Bears in the north of England (Sheffield), were a big hit locally and on nationally renown DJ Gary Crowleys GLR show in London which attracted interest from Phonogram Records amongst others. We were a big hit on his demo clash programme, a live on air battle of the bands where the listeners had to vote for their favourites,at the time we beat a band called Suede who you might have heard of !!Supported Divine Comedy in London and blew them off stage !then promptly split up after crashing the band van on the way home from our triumph, we were paid the royal sum of five pounds and the major label A+R guy didn`t turn up. The nucleus of the band is vocalist Bobby Peru and guitarist Harrison Steel. Bobby Peru is better known as Adrian F, one half of hardhouse act 99th Floor Elevators who had two top ten national hits in the UK with `Hooked` and `I`ll Be There` for Warner Bros offshoot, PWL. `Hooked` is due out again on March 27th on Europes biggest hardhouse label, Tripoli Trax. A national top 20 is expected. |
