Press Reviews
Review from Phillymusic.com 1/1/01The electronic music that I would like to present this month is by GREP. Kevin Park, the mastermind behind Grep, is prolific and builds an interesting blend of sound. While on his MP3.com site, check out any of his 20-something songs. The song I chose to highlight is "Fears Are Bleeding Part II". On MP3.com, Grep's music is described as a "new breed of electronic dance music…a combination of sculpted noise with exotic dance ..." I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. Kevin combines interesting back-beats with with vocal snippets and a veritable barrage of soundscapes. Kevin builds a groove that is great for repetitive listens. I could easily picture myself dancing to his tunes in the club or at home with my mystical bubble light going full tilt. As a matter of fact, I've listened to this song in particular many, many times. "Fears Are Bleeding Part II" is sexy and multi-layered. Just follow the link below and enjoy. It is the 10th song in the list. (I said he was prolific, and I wasn't kidding). There weren't any shows listed on his website, but if Grep is performing in the near future, I'll see you there. |
