Artist History The band originated out of the mind of Jamie Toal, formerly of the band Tripmaster Monkey. Jamie left his home of Davenport, Iowa, and made his way three hours on I80 with his wife to settle in Chicago. There he got together with his friend Jeff Wichman,who a few years earlier, had been studying koto in Japan. Wichman, with his versatile music abilities, would become the band's trumpet and keyboard player. Toal next hooked up with Jeff Kmieziak. Kmieziak had just moved from Maryland where he spent his time going to Fugazi concerts and playing guitar for various bands. Kmieziak plays lead guitar. As the search for a rhythm section went on, Toal stumbled upon Jeff Sorenson (bass), formerly of the band Dick Justice and Kevin Martenson(drums), formerly of the band Moreno. The band was complete.
