Press Reviews listening to the music of Urban Plant Life (U.P.L) serves as a reminder of the fact that there’s no need these days to go to the record store and buff out serious dollars on records when you can get quality stuff for free over the phoneline. In coma, sheldon ebden demonstrates his skills as a dance music professional, presenting a beautiful trancish club mix. there are many great touches to enjoy here, from the excellent ringy modulated vocal sample to the awesome reverberated boom kick drum in the breakdowns. the heavy guitar-sounding riffs are probably some kind of distorted 303 lines, and they really lift the track up from your average trance/dance formula composition. for the mainstream dance fanatic who risks a download, upl’s coma will end up occupying hard drive space for a long time, trust me. with Too damn funky, U.P.L ventures into therealm of drum'n bass, and quite nicely so. the dreamy synth strings and the soft melodies are the only real things that link this track to the above two dance pieces. except, of course, from the good production and the clear understanding of the genre in which the music operates. to be quite honest, i don’t find it as funky as the title and the vocals would suggest, but it is a beautiful creation indeed. it’s great to hear U.P.L taking their music into several directions. top ranks in my book.Raw42.com Reviews.
