Artist description
An excellent group of talent. You've never heard anything like it. One day we might decide to write a song about a president, and the next day we might also want to write a song about a president. And maybe the day after that too, and the following day. But the day after that, we might write a weird incoherent song that nobody likes or understands. And that is the true beauty of the musical outlet called Richard Prior. But don't get us wrong, we write more than songs about presidents and incessant babbling. We also write songs about movies (i.e. "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom") and television heroes (i.e. "The Continuing Story of Jerry Van Dyke"). So sift through our song catalog and experience the smooth, edgy tunes of Richard Prior. There's more to it than what's on the surface. It might take a few listens of a song to hear the subtlties that make up our compositions of perfection. That is the majestic righteousness of Richard Prior. |

Funny "satire" songs...they get stuck in your head. They'll be stuck in your head so long. Very long. I'm sorry. |

Artist History
The band that we were in before (The Spies) was supposed to play at a friend's birthday party. At the last minute, the guitar player got sick and couldn't play. Wanting very much to entertain the masses, Alex, Nick, and Jeff the bassist decided to bring a few instruments and anyway. Calling themselves Richard Pryor, they took the party by storm, and by the end of the night, everyone was singing along to the barrage of cover tunes that the three-piece played. A couple months later, Nick and Alex played at a cast party for a play they were in. They played a song called "Depoe Bay" and it was an instant hit. From then on, Nick and Alex have been honing and perfecting every last note in their songs. |
