Press Reviews
Artist: PCM8 Title: River 3.0 Genre: Soul/Jazz/Instrumental Quite a mixture of styles in the vat here. Soul, jazz, instrumental black magic. The opener, 'Rivers,' is a slow beat, a cool down session with a woman chanting her charms in one of your ears. Get 'Aboard' with this steel drum rhythm and soft bass, like a street band suddenly finding itself in the studio. Instrumental bit of relaxation on the keyboard. I would personally opt for real instruments or more real instrumentations of what they're emulating, but the power and glory is pretty much here. 'Jazzgirl' fades into being and then remains soft, with a steady plumff of the drum, like a track from Prince's vault. I think you'll like the album, but probably won't love it, unless you have an open mind or don't get into the jazz genre often. If you're deep into jazz, you might find this CD a bit tame. But if you're more into soul, you might find it a nice coffee blend. There's 1 way to find out. Don't listen to me, just get the ALBUM and listen. ------------------------------- Paul Cooke Music (PCM)PCM8http://www.musicdish.comhttp://www.beatsezine.comBy: Ben OhmartArtist: Paul Cooke/pcm8Song: FireHeartFrom: Drummer Chick (Ohio)I play that song all the time. Itshould have gone platinum. There are a trillion songs onMTV video's I watch all the time that are so aweful. Fireheart is totallyawesome. The only song I can rememberplaying more than Fireheart is a tune Sting did over 4yrs.ago maybe longer??? Called "Fields of Gold".Can you imagineFireheart on a music video? The song has incredible style, beautiful words, a very nice flowing groove that fits thelyrics perfect. I'm just really crazy about that song. Ican sit and listen to it over and over and never get tiredof it. In my opinion, I feel like you wrote a hit. Well, take care now and keep jammin'!Jeryl :) |
