    Artist History
It all started in 1981 when Max Hall was was Given a Zx81 computer for a Christmas present! Max was instantly bitten by the computer bug and was addicted for many years to come, Max started out by Programming games for the Zx81, Then later the Zx Spectrum. The turning point came with the release of the Commodore 64 home computer. The fact that you could make Synth music from a small 8 bit computer fascinated Max and he Promptly set about producing music demos written entirely on the C64 S.I.D Chip! When Max left school it was time to try and get his music produced professionally, Max was listening to the many pirate radio stations who were playing all the underground Old-Skool Dance Music. And was slowly contacting people in the industry. Max contacted Priority recording studios in Sheffield, luckily meeting with A.B.Cs Steve Singleton! He promptly put Max onto Lee Robinson (Rising High) who owned Steel City Recording Studios, and set about producing demos with Lees, Roland W-30 Sampler. Max then entered into partnership with Lee, because of not owning any recording equipment needed a outlet to produce the demos. In 1989 Max saved up enough and bought his first pro bit of kit, A Roland W-30 Sampler and a Tascam Porta 2, 4 Track and Set up a small bedroom recording studio at home. At this time a decision was made to start his own record label "Maximum Effect Productions", giving up a well paid career in the Steel Industry in the process! The First Release on the "Maximum Effect Productions" record label was in 1995 - Maxs Album "Future Perfect" produced entirely on the W-30, was recorded in the old "Foundry recording Studios" financed by a good friend, and 500 copies were produced! Suprisingly this album sold most of the copies due to the fact some of the tracks "Dvorak Pt1" and "Music's so Wonderful" were getting airplay on the Pirate stations "Fantasy FM" , "Pitch FM" and the Sunday favorite "Sunrise FM" This minor success enabled Max to pursue his career as a producer, Encouraged by the fact that maybe just maybe he could sell some more records, Max started to demo more and more tracks to record companies, and in the summer of 1995 Max worked with new age artist "Jodianne English" wife of world famous artist "Keith English" to record vocal snippets for new track "Biosphere", Max went on and signed recording contract with "Tempora Music" in Canada to release new tracks "Mars Landing" and "Biosphere" - unfortunately this release never happened due to the label going bust before the vinyl could be pressed. By the Summer of 1996 Max decided to Sign other artists to the "Maximum Effect" label, The first choice of Artist was "Dean Medley" who Max had been D.J ing with around the Pubs and Clubs for a few Years, and who showed a interest in the music Max was producing. (He was present for the recording of "Future Perfect") A new band "Digital Coaxial" was formed for projects working with Dean. The first Major project was a Remix for the world famous "Guru Josh", a very well known track "Infinity" This track was produced in Joshs London studio during a four day marathon (no Sleep!!) The track was to be released on major label "Sony/BMG" but never happened due to legal problems. (Yeah due to the fact we got ripped off-ED) (Boo Hoo) It wasn't all bad luck for the label as in the Winter of 1997 Max released his Own tracks "Jupiter Moon" and "Black Death" on the cover of new arty Poetry and Story book "Em Writing and Music" (ISSN 1366 - 3755) Later in 1997 Max licensed two tracks "Egyptology" and "Dreamworld" for a cassette release with "Pulse Productions", In the summer of 1997 Max Worked for local radio station "First Fm" the fore-runner to the now Popular "Peak 107fm" doing the night show between the hours of 1.00am to 4.00am playing the best in underground dance music. (u could get away with it at that hour!) This was a great opportunity to air new "Digital Coaxial" tracks "transmogrify" and "Sh-09 Groove", these tracks were played on air everyday for 2 weeks. "Digital Coaxial" were also summoned to appear on a daytime show, and were interviewed live on air! (scary!) In June 1997 "Maximum Effect Productions" signed second artist, "Sheldon Ebden" as solo project "Urban Plant Life" Sheldon is Currently Recording many demo tracks. (See Discography), later the same year Max was asked to remix tracks for "Warner/Reprise" signed artists "Lisa Hall", two remixes "Chocolate" and "Secret" were completed and "Chocolate" was released with the single "Comatose" in 1999! In 1998 "Max Hall" and "Digital Coaxial" both submitted Remixes for possable release with "UltraWave Records" home of "Dub Chandra", unfortunately the best we could do was get a thank you credit on the album. (Such joy!) Both artist also remixed "Flow-motion" "Dont you Want Me" for possible release in 1999. (This track also ended up in the realms of Fantasy land) March 1999 - Website Review in "Future Music" magazine Anthony Grimley, Editor of MusiciansNet E-mail him at Ant.grimley@futurenet.com Says "Maximum Effect Productions (www.maxhall.freeserve.co.uk) grew out of a record label set up by Max Hall in order to release and distribute his first album. One of the things I like about this site is that not only does he give a list of the kit he uses but the list links to related Web sites for the individual pieces of equipment. The site needs a little polishing (Done That Ant!) ED. but the essence is there. " "The Music Speaks for itself." After the website was reviewed Max Set about the Internet for Real, creating a full interactive website featuring FREE downloadable music in MP3 format, A Studio Webcam! and all info regarding "Maximum Effect Productions" During the first year of being active on the Internet Music Scene "Maximum Effect Productions" had more than 32000 visitors. and more than 12000 Tracks were collectively downloaded from our sites www.mp3.com/maxhall - www.mp3.com/digitalcoaxial - www.mp3.com/upl This figure is climbing every day with over 4000 visits every four weeks Watch this space for further updates! Definitely check the man out!!!!!!.A mellow beginning for Jupiter moon (Trance mix) soon picks up to full fledged dance/trance enthusiasm. and yep, it's definitely trancey!!! with barely any variation or change throughout(Eh ..Ed!) the full 6 minutes. it's almost strange to hear this obviously big time dance track (with the "baby, feel it" vocal sample - there's nothing more dance like than that) remixed into trance. i was expecting the song to explode into full dance mode after the climax but it never happened. Max Hall has got the perfect trance method down pat and it's a nicely done affair at that. very well done!!!!. and i have to know.... was that a Floyd sample starting this track or a sound-alike? (No, it was made on a W-30...ED)(very nice and tasteful, whatever it is) Electra (feel it) club mix is a great cross between dance and trance. there are excellent dance elements (thumping kick, necessary vocal samples!!) but presented in a much more subtle way than the usual in-your-face dance numbers. and much like the previous track, this song is also well done. it doesn't go out of the way to knock you over with cool little effects or innovative melody lines. but what it does do is come on strong as a solid club number for the dancers and that's why this track is so simply effective!! No pretension, no FUCKING around, straight up dancey trance.WWW.RAW42.COM (review and Comments (c) Raw42) There were also similar reviews for "Digital Coaxial" and "Urban Plant Life" from Raw42.com (Thanks guys) Between 1998 and January 2000, "Max Hall", "Digital Coaxial" and "Urban Plant Life" have been slaving away in the studio producing original material for demo and remix use. (see Discography for more details) In February 2000 "Digital Coaxial" had the pleasure of releasing demo track "The Ghost" on the cover C.D of "Future Music Magazine" (This was a goal achieved we can tell ya!) The review read as follows : That's a pretty impressive kit list and by no means a complete one, we often bleat on how its no a pre requisite to have a abundance of kit to make stonking toonz, but on the other side of the scale reams of gear can give you flexibility to be the more creative. this is what "Digital Coaxial" demonstrate admirably with this demo. Anyway "The Ghost" is a mesmerizing track full of movement, shifting timbres, familiar club anthem nuances, and a few good suppress thrown in between to grad the record companies attention. "Digital Coaxial" need to hone what is a very strong idea into something more succinct. (A+R guys are very busy doing something or other) THE DEMO IN FULL : Four extra track feature on "Digital Coaxial" demo and they vary from more laid back efforts to some lively sounding stuff, "Salvo Salsa" has some nifty guitar work going on adding a great live feel and it all sits comfortably within the distinct "Digital Coaxial Style" Summer 2000 - "Digital Coaxial" Have signed recording contract with "Interflow Sounds" in Brighton for release of "The Ghost" on 12" vinyl later this year! The B-side will contain a Harry Diamond and Interflow Remix! Interflowsounds Records are a Well known "Hard House" label kicking the Clubs World-wide with its steady output of records. Home Of Hamphshire and Weatherley, Harry Diamond and Interflow! Latest Projects from "Maximum Effect Productions" include the Max Hall Remixes of "20th Century Boy", "I Love to Boogie" and "Children of the Revolution" for the World Famous "T-Rex" Max is currently in negotiations with T-Rex for possible release of these mixes in 2001. (well it was a good piss up) Watch this Space! Max is also negotiating with "Lisa Hall" and has just completed a mix of "Everyday is a Weekend" to feature on the new Single! "Digital Coaxial" are holed in the studio mixing follow up tracks for the "Interflow" Record Label as are "Urban Plant Life" Latest Updates Autumn 2000 Max Hall is releasing a D.J promo Showcase as 12" vinyl later this year containing the year 2001 remix of "Ram Jam" - "Black Betty", "Opus III" classic track "Fine Day" and "N-Trance" Classic "Set u Free", Hopefully this give away release will bring the remix work for max crashing in! This Track Has already been reviewed on the up and coming Internet Radio Station www.Trancemitter.co.uk, Why not have a read? "Ok - no rocket science here, you all know the tune ("Whooah Black Betty . . .") but this is well worth a listen. Nothing clever or underground but Max's remix just goes to show that a good tune will always win over. The purists among you will be shaking your heads in disgust at the commercial aspect of this tune but believe me, your feet WILL be a-tapping at the same time!! This is unlikely to find its way into Sasha's playlist but when on full release, clubs and pubs nationwide will be rocking. The track pumps its way from start to finish with the oh-so familiar vocal and distorted guitar loop ripping from the speakers. Not due out for several weeks but remember where you read it first when this makes Radio One!! Release with USSR Recordings - U.K Max and Dean From "Digital Coaxial" are to release 12" vinyl cut "Salvo-Salsa" with Local label USSR recordings under the pseudonym "Faction", this will be the debut release on USSR and is creating quite a stir at the moment. This AA release will also feature a remix by "Urban Plant Life" on one side, so thats a double whammy for Maximum Effect Productions.
