Artist History
Laburnum has broken up. We called it quits in March and we are all doing our own projects now. More mp3 files will be added soon. Thanks for your support over the years.
Laburnum started with 4 guys in a basement in the late Autumn of 1994. Their recording has earned the band respect as well as national and international radio airplay and retail distribution.
In October of 1997, vocalist J. Garrigan joined as a full time member at the request of Laburnum’s current singer Les Nasty because of Les's interest in incorporating keyboards and sampling into the band. The current line up has joined forces with manager Andy Martin of Deep South Entertainment. Laburnum is having success in current major burgs such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Columbia, and New York City. Laburnum plans on releasing a new album on their own Ultrafade label soon. Press Reviews
"After a temporary hiatus, the re-vamped Laburnum
emerged light years ahead of its substantial
beginnings this spring, sporting a new frontman
in J. Garrigan and a fresh, epic sound.
Their instrumental craft still digs deep into
indie sensuality, ripe with cascading guitars
and fizzing distortion. But Garrigan's quivering,
powerfully emotional voice has opened new realms
for the band to explore, and has vaulted them to
newsworthy status. Bring on the labels."
- Todd Bowman, Creative Loafing Magazine
Menacing dub scratches and blaring,
metallic guitar, pin it all down beneath a
steady bassline...Presto! instant
groove-pop with a sizzle. -CMJ New Music Report |
