Artist History
The last 6 months have seen the profile of Sydney's inertia rise to the
cusp of national recognition. The critically acclaimed "Time Light &
Motion" EP and accompanying tour have earned respect and admiration all
over Australia for the bands unique blend of breakbeat, techno, jungle
based rhythms and indie based melodies and harmonics. Now the band are
ready to showcase the new 4 track single, "Dream Away", utilising the
raw energy and experimentation of "Time Light & Motion", the experience
of numerous live performances and an intense production schedule.
Mathew Sallur, Colin Kleyweg and Rebecca Webster relocated from Perth to
Sydney in 1997 after a successful beginning appearing with Bjork,
Insurge, an appearance at the 1997 WAMI awards and in the Boiler Room at
the Big Day Out.
Since crossing the Nullabor inertia have signed a publishing deal with
Shock Music Publishing and have had numerous tracks included on films
and cd compilations including Warner's "A Higher Sound", Clan Analogue's
"Cognition", Pacifica Record's "Totalled Beats" and the upcoming "Big
Night Out" video and cd compilation.
inertia's live performances are creating plenty of enthusiasm, with the
band's driving intensity a standout feature. Regular shows at prominent
Sydney venues such as Home, Sublime, Palladium, Goodbar and Tweekin have
established inertia as a first class Sydney dance act.
