Artist History
One of the first bands on the East Coast to introduce hip-hop into the metal scene, Eastcide breaks the mold indefinably. Drawing from myriad genres including rock, pop, reggae, metal, rap, and hardcore, Eastcide creates a uniquely heavy sound, innovative guitar styles, and an undeniable groove. Lead man Jocab ranges from a gutteral growl to melodic singing, impacting the already hard-hitting lyrics. Playing with such acts as Mudvayne, Slipknot, Primus, Static X, and Coal Chamber, Eastcide is as diverse as they are talented.
Milestones include playing to a 20,000 strong audience at Locobazooka '99 and '01 and a TV appearance on USA network's Farmclub with DMX. After teaming up with drp records in 2002, Eastcide rereleased their sold out 2nd album with 4 new cuts, including the single entitled "Green," and "Graduation Flowers," as featured on the Gimme the Medicine compilation.
Eastcide is hard at work in the studio on their follow-up full length CD. In an interview with Boovie concerning the upcoming release, he said the album is "good." This band is one of the most amazing loud rock bands on the planet. They will be rocking every venue, their fan base is spreading like a virus. Join the cult! |

Press Reviews
Worcester PhoenixEastcide: Perhaps the area's best-kept secret, Eastcide has been drawing huge crowds all over the region with little commercial support. Their last effort, Everybody's Walking . . . Away, is a swift knee to the groin that's won them staunch support, and they've blown more than a few headliners off the stage with their live stuffCircus MagazineDemo ListenThis Plymouth, MA sextet is helping to keep Plymouth ''Rock'' firmly on the rapcore map. Jakob D. is a force to be reckoned with at the mic. He effortlessly shifts from hip-hop rhymes to unrestrained hardcore wailing. R. Costa shows he's schooled on the skins with his unrelenting assault on various time signatures. Champy and the MZA know how to get the most out of two electric guitars, and that fattened midrange plays a big role in defining Eastcide's overall sound. |
