Press Reviews
digital coaxial is one of those bands i have a hard time reviewing because they're very good at writing a catchy dance tune. the structure is just so, all sounds and samples flow so smoothly into each other, production is excellent, etc. it's hard to comment on, so this is it - very good catchy dance music... not straying far from the formula but doing one hell of a job within it. salvo-salsa is listed as dance but has many bits of techno flavouring added in for good measure, plus it sounds a good deal like an acidic house track too. added in is one very fine acoustic guitar sample which brings a nicely subtle touch of class to this track. the multitude of styles mixed in only enhances this song and salvo-salsa is highly reminiscent of that relaxed robert miles style. there isn'ta great deal to say about this song, and that's not a bad thing in this case. it's one of those perfectly executed mellow house numbers - well produced, everything in its place and definitely recommended for listening pleasure. everyone probably knows the tune infinity by guru josh and if you don't, the melody will be instantly recognizable once you hear the infinity (digital coaxial remix) version. commissioned by paul walden (guru josh) to remix that dance hit into this trance version, digital coaxial shows there's some serious talent lurking about on mp3.com. sounding a great deal like the original (from what i remember at least), this remix is another well executed song. just as catchy and appealing as the guru josh number, it features the happy combo of high pitched melodies, harmonic arpeggios and fuzzy synth stabs. all very nice and recommended for download, especially if the guru josh original brings back a few memories.Raw42.com Review. |
