Artist description McCollim's music takes on many forms. His latest project "WayLive" is a collection of recent compositions conceived in his home studio. All instruments are played by Dan on the keyboards (except guitar and drums on a few tracks), using samples and synthesized sounds. "Thank you"!!

Music Style jazz & funk fusion

Musical Influences For this project, the styles of Pat Metheny, Bob James, Bill Evans, Chick Corea and George Duke. I also embrace the sounds of mainstream, straight ahead , and some avant garde jazz artists. I love Sam Rivers, Don Pullen, and McCoy, just to scratch the surface. There is so much great stuff out there in all genres of jazz. I try to keep my mind and ears open.

Artist History Dan McCollim started playing piano at age 4. Classically trained, he graduated from the Berklee College of Music (Boston), and now teaches jazz studies at Whitworth College and Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Washington. Dan has had the honor of playing with many great musicians including, Michael Brecker, Ernie Watts, Frank Foster, Freddie Hubbard, Dave Weckl, Steve Smith, Larry Coryell, Howard Roberts, Bud Shank, Lew Tabackin, Conrad Herwig and Richie Cole. He started the group "Jazz Conspiracy" in the early 80's and continues to play clubs and festivals in the Northwest.

Group Members On "WayLive", Dan's songs are enhanced with the addition of the fine guitar work of Pat Barclay (Mumbo Jumbo) and Michael Powers from the Seattle area. Also The fine drum work of Daniel Cox on selected tracks.

Instruments Kurzweil K2000, PC88, Roland D50, Korg M1, Fender Chroma, Fender Rhodes, Hohner D6 Clavinet, Bass Legends (Spectrosonic) and Bob Clearmountain Drum samples.
