Artist History Born in Havana Cuba, and raised in Miami Florida, I have been writing in all different types of genre since the age of fifteen. In 1985 together with three other local musicians I started a band project called “ Erotic Exotic”. After recording and releasing a song called “Take Me As I Am” through a local independent record company the song took off locally selling about 10,000 copies within the first few months. Four months after the song started to get regular airplay in South Florida radio, the band got the attention of Atlantic Records, and signed up for two singles (Take Me As I Am & L.O.V.E). The singles sold together about 80,000 copies. In 1991, after years of touring and recording I left Erotic Exotic and joined another local group signed to Epic Records called “Nuclear Valdez”. The Nukes as they were known, had a strong fan following since they were one of the first bands to appear on MTV’s Unplugged T.V. show. I played with them as an extra musician for about a year until I decided to dedicate my music career to writing for other Artists. I have had songs published through EMI Screen Gems, Joeyboy Records, WesSky Music, and Lyn Ashley Music, although I am not currently signed exclusively with any company. I have been a member of BMI since 1984. I’m currently working with other local songwriters as well, mostly in the Latin and Pop genre. I perform in various open mic shows like “Songwriters in the Round” which was developed here in Miami by songwriter Desmond Child. Music has been a very important part of my life for over 25 years now, and it is always teaching me something new. I hope you enjoy my songs as much as I enjoy writing them.
