The Fast Johnny Blues Band is composed of several veteran blues players. Each is a well-known, long-time contributor to the Naptown blues scene.
Together these guys play with a passion, and style that keeps their audiences jumpin to the music whenever they take to the stage.
Allen Stratyner, (Harmonica, Vocals) - Was born in New York City, and has made Indianapolis his home for the past 33 years. Known throughout the area as a talented, and creative harp man, Stratyner has played with blues legends like Louis Meyers and Pinetop Perkins, The beloved blues mandolin man, Yank Rachell asked Allen to play on his last studio recording, “Too Hot For The Devil”. In a rave review of the CD, “Blues Revue Magazine”, Associate editor, Rich DelGrosso said, “Stratyner’s harp is perfect in the way it compliments the mandolin riffs, lilting lightly in the fills, and sassing brightly on the solos.”
“Fast” John Scharbrough, (Guitar, Vocals) – Known for his blazingly, frenetic guitar work, and soulful, jazz-tinged swing playing, “Fast” Johnny has been electrifying Indianapolis Audiences for the past 20 years. John has been the lead guitar man in top bands like “The Cruisematics, “Lefty Bates And The Headhunters”, “The Michigan Street Blues Band”, and “The Shifters”. John is also a talented songwriter. He produced and plays on two MP3.COM chart-topping blues CD’s, “The Indy Blues Project”, and “The Inner City Blues”. In fact, The Indy Blues Project” receives special mention in the “The Jazz And Blues Lover’s Guide To The U.S.”
