    Artist description
The Brass Monkeys are an 8 piece outfit from a genre known as Wedgecore; a blend of ska and stadium rock. They have been gigging for 2 years and have built up a good reputation in their home town of Reading. During this time the band have recorded 3 demos, the most recent being ‘Change Of Scenery’, a 3 track demo. The Brass Monkeys fill the stage with chaos and produce a strong full sound with a large number and variety of instruments. The band always interact with the crowd, often ending up in it. Press Reviews
“Brass Monkeys have never been averse to a bit of showmanship. A good laugh yes, but tonight the monkeys also sound seriously good…Mini anthems such as Plan B and Not My Problem are just as good as anything from the South Calafornia ska-punk hotbed.” 29th October 2002 RUSU – Supporting Spankboy Alex Gosman – Spark Magazine “The band to steal the show tonight was The Brass Monkeys…..They seem to grasp the concept that live shows are as much about entertainment as they are about music. I learnt a valuable lesson – definitely check out The Brass Monkeys at their next live gig!” 29th May 2002 The Fez club – Supporting the Candys + Cephas Silvia Subbs – Spark Magazine “With big hair wigs, a small brass section, a singer who knows how to get a crowd going and good music, Brass Monkeys were hardly contained by the little stage. They are a band that will be impossible to miss…..it was like some sort of fucked up circus!” 29th May 2002 The Fez club – Supporting the Candys + Cephas Chris Harrington – Josaka.co.uk “Brass Monkeys entertain and they know how to work an audience, playing their frenetic ska/punk, this made for an amusing gig that sent the crowds loopy.” 27th July 2002 – Basingstoke extreme festival Samantha Carter – Josaka.co.uk “Following a few recent changes, Brass Monkeys are back on form and ready once more for the responsibilities of world domination….. Their sheer entertainment value has won them many supporters. Their style of ska/punk is unique….and the three piece brass section will induce a terrifying mosh-pit that only the most hardened of music appreciator will venture.” Preveiw – Fez Club supporting Jesse James + Spankboy Samantha Carter – Josaka.co.uk
