Artist History formed in 2001, nick and robot create intertwining synthesizer music. using guitar, voice, a lot of hybrid synthesizers, and discarded drum machines, the duo strives to make the best out of twenty year old equipment. "i'm a huge collector of old pieces that people have or maybe wish the could forget about. the basis of nickandrobot is finding beauty in machines that were once expensive and state-of-the-art only to be thrown away or collect dust three or four years down the line," says Nicholas Horn, the human half of the duo. "It's cool having the sounds that groups like the Cure and artists like Jean Micheal Jarre used. Some of the sounds are just horrendous, but some of them really shine through." nickandrobot will release another e.p. this winter, and should have a full length out by summer of 2004. June, 2003
