    Artist description
With the launch of Jennie Arnau’s new CD Superman Won’t Take The Call, it is clear that this local New Yorker, originally from South Carolina, is poised for stardom! Recorded at the prestigious Battery Studios (Britney Spears, Alanis Morrisette, Perry Ferrell) with such special guest musicians as Julia Kent (Rasputina, Sheryl Crow), & Ann Hairston (Macy Gray, Luscious Jackson) with production by Stephen George (Ric Ocasek, Mary J. Blige) and Barb Morrison (A.S.C.A..P Award winner), Superman is finely crafted, richly textured and a powerhouse blend of country, pop, & alternative rock. Between March & June 2003, Jennie licensed eight songs to VH-1 & MTV for various programming including Born to Diva, and was reviewed in The New York Post, Venus Magazine, & The Village Voice. Her complex, dynamic songwriting & her honest, captivating voice keep her audiences coming back for more. Press Reviews
This local thrush’s imminent Superman Won’t Take the Call proves both her and her band capable of a husky uplift and rhythmic wallop rarely heard in the female-folkie field. Nashville belters like Joe Dee Messina or Martina McBride would be proud to tear into small-town geo-sociological explorations as earthily popwise as “Tallulah Falls” or “The River” or the Carolina twister romance chronicle “One More Day.” And Jennie’s fine with blues riffs and Nirvana basslines, too. *Chuck Eddy, Village Voice "This up-and-coming artist should be on everyone's list of albums to buy...Her singing style and lyrics are extremely original; her music is a refreshing change from the grunge wannabes and heavy metal bands". *Rob Marx, 106.5 The Buzz, Richmond, VA's New Rock Alternative "This is what you look for in an album - originality, thoughtful lyrics, vibrant vocals, and it just plain rocks" *Caitlin Lyon, Venus "Jennie Arnau's dusky alto voice is both half wistful and half defiant...simple emotions that entice spectators". *Rosemary Harold, Columbia Daily Tribune "Hot rock'n babe carries a big stick and takes it to the road like only maybe Janis Joplin could. Don't think this band is an almost like. They have their own sound and energy. You go girl". *Onlinetv.com
