Artist History
So, you think you've heard it all?
NO!, not YET!!!!
Wait until you've sampled the authentic style
of the new millenium's one and only Jenni Dean!
You just might find a missing part of your
soul in the spirit of her all-original repetoire.
With a gifted flair, Jenni communicates a
multitude of parallel meanings in the depths
of her songwriting lyrics, leaving you both
mystified, and wanting MORE! While many of her songs
are love ballads, they carry a spiritual
message in them that capture the yearning for
unity.
The blend of her vocal style, philosophical/
spiritual lyric writing , rhythmic feel and ear-
catching melodies will stir your heart , flirt
with your mind, and tap gently on the door of
your soul.
A native of New Orleans, Jenni has lived and
travelled around the world since the age of seven.
Her first call to music occurred by the
age of nine while living in Ethiopia, Africa.
She remembers her call to music through an
Ethiopian carpenter who worked on a nearby house
and would stand on the roof at quitting time
playing a wooden flute that he had made as the
sun sank down behind the nearby mountain-range.
"We didn't have to speak the same language for
me know that he was experiencing a sense of
communion as he played so soulfully" , says Jenni.
"I would sneak over to the house almost everyday
to be near him to watch and listen to him play."
Ultimately, when the construction on the house
was complete, the two parted ways, but the carpenter
passed on his flute to her which cemented her
desire and determination to stay true to her
heart.
"He had something that I wanted, and I was determined
to have that too. Receiving the gift of the flute
was only the beginning of my journey."
By the age of twelve, Jenni had written her first
song and continued throughout the years to perfect
her craft. Performing in Georgetown, DC, Houston,
New Orleans, Nashville and Greenville, she continues
to captivate her audience with her original heart-
felt style.
While living in Nasvhille, she was fortunate to have
studied under the great songwriter/composer Jack Keller, who
acclaimed for writing the hit theme song for the
popular sitcom "Bewitched". |
