Artist description
Chuck Cheesman is a singer/songwriter and music educator whose music is enjoyed by people of all ages. He has spent four years as a popular instructor in the Old Town School of Folk Music’s beloved Wiggleworms™ program. Before that Chuck taught fifth grade in Chicago’s public schools. He has performed his music throughout the Chicago area in venues ranging from coffeehouses to late-night open mics and jam sessions in smoky bars, but he is best known for his energetic and entertaining performances for children under the age of five.
Chuck’s latest recording, A Family Songbook, is a collection of songs aimed at children. Original songs like the blues tunes Big Blue Dog and A Big Dog Ate My Homework, as well as the tender lullaby Goodnight Child, will satisfy parnets and children alike. Familiar songs like Jeff Moss’s classic Rubber Duckie and the rewritten Crawdad Song will have everyone singing along.
In September of 2001 Chuck released Coming Home, a collection of introspective original songs written while in his twenties. Currently, Chuck is preparing a follow-up recording. The new songs deal with subject matter ranging from love and personal relationships to the history of the American West and social criticism. The working title is The Setting Sun, and the project will hopefully be ready by the end of 2003.
