Artist History
The Oggs took shape in Kalmar, Sweden, from the leftovers of a band called Radioblast. When an internal affair including a band member and another band members girlfriend got out of hand the band split up. This had Marc "Marky Ogg" Psychic (guitar, back-up vocals) and Wimpy "Teddy Ogg" looking for a new band. When Marky in the fall of 1999, through work, met up with Danny Ogg who took the role of drummer the band formed. The first of currently three recordings that The Oggs have made was recorded in March, 2000 and contained 16 songs. It was named "Coming out of the closet".
Later in 2000 the departure of Danny, who moved like 700 miles away form the two others, had Marky and Teddy again standing on the brink of having their musical carriers ended. But reluctant to give up they soon found a new drummer who got the name Lilly Ogg and also added another guitarist called Joey Ogg. This line-up waited 'til January, 2001, to make the second recording of the band (Oh my god, it's The Oggs) that included 10 songs.
The Oggs has since had a number of shows and also a third recording, which took place in July, 2002. It was named Growing up and included 7 songs.
The name of the band was taken from a book series by Terry Pratchett called Discworld. In a number of the books, there is a witch called Gytha "Nanny" Ogg. Her personality and way of viewing life was something that made me (sincerely) want to be a part of the Ogg family. So therefore the name The Oggs was taken for the band.
Sincerely Marky Ogg
