Artist History
From 1992 to 1999, The Conspiracy pushed the boundaries that govern how artsy and experimental a 'ska band' could be. The Conspiracy quickly became the big fish in the small Northern California pond that is Petaluma and frequntly packed the local Phoenix Theatre. The band ventured out on three Western US tours and played with the likes of Sublime, The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Strung Out, The Specials, The Selecter, Bad Manners, The Special Beat, The Skatalites, The Toasters, Lets Go Bowling and many more. A seminal change took place in 1996 when guitarist Lincoln Barr left The Conspiracy to join Lets Go Bowling. The Group split up for almost a year and then reformed, this time around with bassist Josh Staples on lead vocals. After 3 EPs, one full length album, and many unreleased recordings, the Conspiracy played their last show on New Year's Eve 1998/1999. Members went on to join and/or form Edaline, The Wunder Years, The Ghost, Inkwell, Cannonball, Realistic, The Velvet Teen, The New Trust, Lets Go Bowling and more. |
