Artist description Dorchester, a neighborhood of Boston, is the birthplace and happy home of For Tomorrow.The band will be the first to let you know that if Dorchester was separated from Boston, it would be the second biggest city in Massachusetts, and most certainly the coolest. As far as musical style goes, For Tomorrow is hard to pin down. Too soft to be rock, too hard to be folk, too deviant to be pop and too normal to be alternative, their music is elusive, avoiding all attempts to categorize. Their sound is based mainly around acoustic guitar and vocals, but don't be surprised to hear a grumbling bass, stirring piano or sonorous violin creep into the background, or the foreground, for that matter. Be ready too for the somewhat quirky twists they throw at their listeners with some sampling and sound distortion. For Tomorrow talks a lot about the importance of the interplay between melody and harmony, between music and lyrics. They think this is the difference between something that sounds beautiful and something that is beautiful.
