Artist History
Biography:
Hemlock started early October 2001 by Andrew Mifsud
drums), Julian Dingli (bass), Michael Borg and Elton
Falzon on guitar duties. The band tried out various
vocalists but never seemed to find the exact match
for the style they played until fortunately Steve
Vassallo showed up and the band settled down with
the full line-up and started composing some material.
Later on in 2002, some problems with the guitarists
occurred and they parted ways with the band.
The band tried out various guitarists later on that
year but none could dedicate enough time towards
the band, until in early 2003 Campus decided to
take on guitar duty. From they’re on Hemlock start
ing composing new material. With the introduction
of a new guitarist the songs being composed also
started to outline a change in musical direction.
The style had changed from melodic death-metal to
brutal death metal in the U.S vein. In March 2003
Hemlock recorded a promo entitled Vomiting Forth
Intestinal Remnants with the aim to get the
attention of record labels, and other promotional
areas in order to get introduced to the death metal
scene as an up coming extreme band.
