    Artist History
Anxiety was started around Christmas 2001 in the small town of Chippenham (but didn't have a name at this time), Wiltshire (England). It started off as Simon 'Gaz' Garraway (guitars) and Tom 'Mouldy' Mould (bass) playing songs by bands they liked at the time (such as Sex Pistols, Sham 69, and The Clash). Around August or Nov. 2002, Dean Jones joined as the band's vocalist. In November, the band, still drummer less, wanted to perform in the weekly school assembly, and so Leon Makepeace (drums) asked if he could play drums for them. He didn't have his own kit at the time, as he was a guitarist. The band played their assembly, and Leon officially joined the band on drums, but still didn't have a kit, so they just practiced at school lunch breaks. The band got their first gig in December 2002, supporting another band from their school, Afterthought (who played stuff like Nirvana, Chilli Peppers and all that crap). We got to play a measly 4 songs (those of which were by Ramones, Sex Pistols and The Clash), but the crowd liked us, and so we were happy. Leon still didn't have a kit, so he used Afterthought's. We ended our set by Dean wiping his ass on Never Been Washed's (another band at the gig) mic stand, great stuff! The band then chose to put themselves under the moniker of "Societies Victim". In late December, the band started writing our own material. Leon also writes a lot of the music and lyrics, adding a more hardcore influence to us (similar sounding stuff to GBH, Discharge, etc). The lyrics are of the socially conscious kind (anti-drug, anti-nuclear, anti-racism, etc). By January 2003, Mouldy started loosing interest in the whole thing, and left the band. The band continued as a 3 piece until February 2003, when they were joined by Andy Ingham on bass, and has proved a good replacement. We then realised there was another punk band in England called Societies Victim, so we changed our name to Deranged, then, in April, we changed it again to Anxiety. The band did their second gig on May 3rd at Chippenham Rugby Club (we actually played in the middle of a disco), which we planned to make a recording of, but never got round to it. The band plan on doing many more gigs in the future, and to make a few demo tapes here and there.
