Artist History
E.N.V.Y. formed in August of 2000 in Topton, PA. Despite the band’s primary focus on metal, their broad range of influences brought elements of jazz and blues into their music. E.N.V.Y. has, without a doubt, spawned a sound that is all its own.
December 2000 marked E.N.V.Y.’s entrance onto the Reading,PA scene. They began playing countless clubs and bars in the area, most notably Hiester’s and The Silo. In a few short months, the band had gained a core following and established themselves as one of the hardest hitting bands in the area. In April 2001 E.N.V.Y. went on to record a three track demo at Akdar Studios in Bernville, Pa. “Hypocrite” was featured on DRP Records’ “Gimmie the Medicine” compilation. By summer 2001, E.N.V.Y. found themselves playing with some the biggest bands in eastern Pennsylvania such as Dead Leaves, Spinebelt, and Anthrophobia. The band’s eclectic style proved successful as their fan base continued to grow. By the end of 2002, E.N.V.Y. had developed a brutal live performance that set them apart from their peers.
After nearly three years, E.N.V.Y. continues to push their music to the limit. They continue to demonstrate that metal can be both melodic and aggressive at the same time. Furthermore, E.N.V.Y.’s intentions have not changed since the beginning. This band will always be about pounding out loud fucking metal, and thrashing some skulls in the process.
