Artist description Age of Reason Bio AOR the band was founded with one thing in mind. If you could assemble the people, the talent, and the dedication to pursue what was most important in a musician’s life, a career in music, that indeed would be an achievement to be proud of. Age of Reason has taken that philosophy one or two steps further by putting together a powerhouse show and a rocking set for the world to see and hear. Founded in 2001, AoR started off with learning to write together. “We wanted to write great songs that meant something to us”, explains Sean Lockwood, Lead Vocals and Guitar. “We needed to learn how to play together and create a sound all our own. We are really happy we thought things through, and put the time into those early days. Now it is paying off.” The early days were spent playing in other bands, and playing together at the now infamous Sunset Strip rock clubs. “Simply, we love to play” describes Ben Romano, Lead Guitar and Vocals. “Our lives are spent working towards playing every day in front of as many people as possible.” We have a lot to give and so far, the audiences are getting it.” AoR had never even played a live gig until they were asked to perform for TV on “The Buzz”, a new cable show featuring great new talent from Orange County. They proved so popular, the show asked them back for a repeat performance. “That was a kick for us” laughs AoR drummer Martin Franklin, “We setup all our gear and nearly blew up all the production company’s sound equipment. We had to start one song over because they needed to retool.” Recently added Bassist Ben Reikart says it all so clearly. “I heard AoR’s tunes and I was blown away. I told Ben Romano, I had to play in this band! It is so rare to find a group so together and naturally going in the same direction. It comes through in their music, and their performances. I wanted to be a part of that. I know we will have a great history together.” Recent shows include a stint in Las Vegas doing a show with Dirty Vegas at The Whiskey Sky. AoR was quite surprised when Kid Rock joined them for an impromptu 1-hour plus set too. “That is exactly the kind of thing we love. We invited him up and we kicked some ass together. It was cool rocking on some new stuff we had never played before. That place didn’t know what hit ‘em.” Ben Romano Since then, the band has spent most of its time in pre-production for an upcoming album release. “We are working with a producer now, refining and perfecting the sound we have worked so hard to get. We are anxious to start recording again. We have a bunch of slamming new material we are just dying to unleash on our fans ” Sean Lockwood AoR will make its mark in the music business. No doubt due to their extreme dedication, talent, and willingness to do what it takes not to undermine their own integrity as musicians, and to the music world at large. ~Owen Goldman

Group Members Age of Reason Individual Bio Ben Romano: Guitar/Vocals He is adept at many playing styles and textures. Equally proficient at the Acoustic guitar and 12 string, Ben can go from screaming leads and heavy riffs to peaceful solitude in a moment. Truly an amazing gift to see this performer in action. “I enjoy getting the people off their butts and watching them getting down to our music. That is one of the most enjoyable aspects of what we do. Playing for those who need it, and want it, loud and hard” Martin Franklin: Drums/Vocals One of Rock’s most musical Drummers, Martin brings the frenetic intensity of say a Keith Moon, but at the same time, makes it look easy. He is also known for bringing back solid beats reminiscent of the late Jon Bonham and others from those early days of hard rock. “Many people have given me encouragement to pursue music. Some famous, some not, but nonetheless they all have supported my goals and aspirations. Influences? There are too many to mention here, but if your ears are keen, you will hear some of those different voices coming from me. When we meet, you can tell me whom you heard.” SeanLockwood: Vocals/Guitar Sean is already a seasoned veteran in the Hollywood scene. He has been playing clubs like the Troubadour and the Sunset Strip clubs since the age of 15. Quite an accomplishment for a young musician in Los Angeles. A very passionate singer and guitar player, Sean brings strong musicality and raw talent to the group. “I don’t know what happens to me when I am up there on stage. It is transcending how many different emotions and feelings I am experiencing at that moment. There is nothing else like it. Sometimes I get so into what I am doing, it feels like I am in a new dimension. It is so hard to come back. I hate it when the show ends. I feel like I could go forever.” Ben Reikart: Bass/Vocals Truly a gifted bassist, Ben can play all styles with passion and delivers the no nonsense, slamming, punchy groove. He can jam on every bass you can throw at him. Upright, fretless, 6 string, it doesn’t matter, Ben gets down with all of them. He is the perfect compliment to Martin’s drumming, solidifying one of the best up and coming rhythm sections in Rock music today. “When I hooked up with these guys, I found out we had a similar history in the business. Reaching goals and milestones only to have something fall apart, and then start over. We have that in common and the best thing is that now I belong to a group where we all appreciate the value in each other, our group, and what we can accomplish together. Now we can just focus on musically kicking some serious ass.” The group is finishing up a new EP with one of Rock’s busiest producers.
