Artist description
Formed in the spring of 2001, Threadline—a five-piece Christian band hailing from Winnipeg, Manitoba—combine a high energy sound of alternative rock/punk and emo. Since the band’s inception, it has been a common goal by all members to play uplifting, passionate music, and to give a message of love and hope to listeners.
Known for their intense, high energy live show, Threadline strives to connect with their audience each and every night, showing God’s love through their actions and their attitudes on and off stage. Lead guitarist Derek Eastveld says, “For me, I feel the most at home when I’m on stage. It’s an awesome feeling to know that you are giving your talent back to God, and doing what you love to try to further His kingdom.” Entertaining the crowd is very important to the band. Lead singer, Blair Backman, says, “We don’t just want to stand on stage and play our songs—we make it a point to interact with the crowd, and really ‘get in their faces’ so to speak. We wear our hearts on our sleeves, and let our emotion flow when we play.”
In February 2002, Threadline released their debut album, Without a Hitch. Since then the band has seen a line up change that has shifted their sound. “We have grown and matured as a band since our first album and we feel that now we have truly captured the sound we are looking for,” says Blair.
In February 2003, Threadline signed on with Independent label, BloodBought Records based out of New Jersey, and went into the studio to record their first label release. This album (Undefined) will be in stores June 21st.
Threadline has enjoyed much success in the past two years, they have been truly blessed with much support from their friends and families, as well as the local scene. Threadline is rapidly becoming one of the premier Christian rock bands in Manitoba. “We do our best each and everyday to stay grounded, we just want to continue to go out there and plant seeds for the Kingdom of God.” |
