Artist description
Sphynxx Engine started as a solo artist in 1998. After some initial reorientations the band has now become a determined duo. The best description for Sphynxx Engine?s music is probably "electronic rock music". It carries elements of Independent, Rock, Drum'n'Bass, Trip Hop... implying a decent love to 80's wave pop.
Despite this mixture of different genres Sphynxx Engine's music has a very unique, straightforward style. The different influences don't mix up to an arbitrary mixture, but are instead interlaced to a very own genre that feels familiar to the listener, although there is nothing comparable. Even if Sphynxx Engine's songs use strong electronical elements, they don't compare to cold, mechanical EBM clichés. The main focus of Sphynxx Engine's music lies in complex songs with carrying along melodies. Electronic serves the design of sound intricacies and atmospherical deepness, not standardized rhythms. |
