Artist description
New Atlantic were pioneers of rave music in northern UK warehouse party and club scene of the early nineties. Their 1992 hit "I know" was one of first tracks to break through from the this scene into the UK Top 20 and is still a popular oldskool classic to this day.
After several years working on other projects New Atlantic are returning in the summer of 2003 with a series of new releases which fuse contemporary trance and techno styles with spiritual and uplifting vocals from all corners of the globe, from the past 100 years of music history.
Their first new release "Let's go down", featuring vocal harmony trio "Virginia", is a techno reworking of the baptist hymn "Down to the river to pray" as featured to stunning effect in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". The first mixes of this track - New Atlantic's "Sub Atlantic Dub" and DJ Issimo's euphoric club mix are now being circulated to key DJs and will be available on white label vinyl during July, with a full commercial release including new remixes following.
