Artist description
With 3 studio albums and numerous live performances under their belts, Slight of Mind continues to be one of the greatest local Heavy Metal acts in the New England area. Their amazing light and lazer shows have won over fans for over a decade and has made them the best local band to see live. Playing with many National acts such as W.A.S.P., Savatage, Fates Warning, Saxon, Raven, and Lizzy Borden to name a few, their popularity continues to grow year after year.
In 1996 the band appeared in Toronto for a live broadcast on MTV Canada also, known as the "Independent" for an interview to support their album "CLIFFS". This was the first time that an unsigned band appeared on the show, weeks later a Toronto record company requested that the band distribute 5,000 copies throughout Canada.
In 2000 their most popular album entitled "SLIGHT OF MIND" had been played throughout the U.S.,Canada, and Europe and is still to this day in high demand in Germany and Russia. Their hit song from that album "Scarborough Rain" reached # 2 on the Underground Records top 100 songs of the year and was requested over 70 times a day for 4 weeks straight at a local radio station. No other local band has had that many requests at that radio station since.
Haunting chainsaw riffs, thunderous Godzilla crushing bass lines, heartpounding doublebass attacks, and ear ripping vocal melodies that will make you headbang for hours. This best describes their sound. With a brand new album in the works, the torch still continues to burn for Slight of Mind. Led by guitarist Gary Gordon, vocalist The Hankster, drummer Mike Barret, and bassist Brian MacDonell this lineup will be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come...
