Artist description
John Clarke, also known as Johnny Cool, started singing professionally in 1975 after he migrated to New York from his homeland of Jamaica. John recorded his first song at Bullwackie's Studio which was located in Bronx, New York. The song was titled, "Recession". After hearing John sing, Bullwackie (Lloyd Barnes) decided to work on album with him.
The album was completed and entitled, "Visions of John Clarke" which did well in Europe. John went on to create many more singles, including a festival song in 1976 called, "Boom Bang Festival". John came in third place in this festival competition in New York.
John has performed at many different places in New York including the famous S.O.B. club in Manhattan, New York. In 1986, John left Bullwackie's and started recording at the H.C.F studio in Freeport, Long Island. Michael McDonald became his producer and John decided to change his name to "Johnny Cool".
John made his first song at the H.C.F studio in the summer of 1986 entitled, "Go Back Home". This is a rendition of Bob Andy's "I've got to Back Home". John Cool continues to recored at the H.C.F. studio and has completed an album which will soon be released.
John is currently working with a band named Imperial Rockers. He has just finished working on a new album entitled, "Just Cool" which has just been released.
