Artist History Skryabin started existing on June 30 1989 in a small industrial town Novoyavorivske in Lviv district. At that time in there functioned the "studiya patologichnoyi tyshi"(SPATY), which had been created by Rostik Domishevskiy with his first rock-group "Nasha Kantora"(Our Office). The members of that group, except R.D. himself, organized a punk formation "Gonzo i Braty(chuzhi sygarety) " (Gonzo and Brothers(someone else's cigarettes)), in which the leading role belonged to Sergiy Gera, by that Gonzes encouraged many other Novoyavorivske inhabitants to creating new and new names in the walls of "SPATY". One of them, which was called "Alligator School" was organized by Andriy Kuzmenko and Igor Yatsyshyn. All the above-mentioned gentlemen formed the first structure of "Skryabin". The sound director of the studio and the band "Skryabin" was Sanya Skryabin(known as Skryaba), whose surname was borrowed for the band title. In "Spaty" there were some other groups, which it would be impossible not to mention, as "Skryabin" members hold far not the last places in them. Here by buttons we marked the membership of "Skryabin" members in other groups. The musical history of "Skryabin" started with recording of the song "Chuyesh bil' "(Feel The Pain) and of album with the same title. The songs were duplicated with their English versions(Very ambitious they were on that time). Album recording and band's active life finished with Roy's going to army in December 1989. In the period of 1989-1991 some songs were occasionaly written. And to record some of them, Roy was brought from the army by his father on the car. In 1989 the "Spaty" modular team, which called "Sydinnya Razom"(Sitting Together) went to the festival "Vyvih" in Lviv. In 1991 Kuzma, after having called Shura, which arrived from Bilorasha on holidays, Skryaba and Kjur (according to the passport - Andriy Shturma - Roy's classmate) under the label ANDRIY KILL went to "Chervona Ruta" to Zaporizha. The song "Na Dahu"(On The Roof) took the third place in pop genre. This fact still remains a mystery, because at that time this song was sang with unreally low and false vocal of frightened Kuzma. After "Ruta" ANDRIY KILL signed a contract, which could without help of "Lomda Color" make stand the hair of those people who had an opportunity to read it. The term of the contract was 13 years. During this agreement "Skryabin", already in the full staff: Kuzma, Shura, Roy and Skryaba recorded an album "Mova Ryb"(The Fish Language) on the LEVA-Studio. It was released normally only in 1997 by NAC in Kiev. In 1992 "Skryabin" was invited to cooperation by the first producer agency in Ukraine - "Rostyslav-Show". It's director was Rostyslav Shtyn'. Having received in the free-of-charge rent super - for those times - musical instruments and the first normal wages they have recorded in "Spaty" the first serious material called "Technofight". With that material they went for a little "live" tour. All the serious plans and intentions cracked in one minute - "Rostyslav-Show" stopped existing. "Technofight" remained in an amateur recording, and only 3 things: Sam(Alone), Ne Vmyray(Don't Die), In Your Eyes were recorded in the agency studio and later appeared on "Mova Ryb". In 1993, having recorded the last song on "Technofight" - Nikomu To Ne Treba(No One Needs That), Skryabin froze its creative activity for more than half a year. During that time Shura stormed economics, Kuzma- medicine, Roy- Moscow, and Skryaba- MTV, by intermediary of the first satellite antenna in the district. In the period of 1993-1995 they took part in festivals: "Viter Zi Shodu"(Eastern Wind), "Muzychniy Sendvich"(Musical Sandwich), "Maria", "Berlin Independence Days", "Popso Franko", "Novi Zirky Starogo Roku"(New Stars Of The Old Year), "Tavriyski Igry'95"(Tavria Games'95), "Donets'k Zaprochuye Druziv"(Donetsk Invites Friends) [this list is given not in chronological order] "Muzykanty Proty Narkomanii I Alkogolizmu"(Musicians Against Drug-mania and alcoholism), Forum for Diaspora from Canada. During that time, they have got acquainted with a great number of people, which later helped them very much. In the middle of 1994 the former employee of "Rostyslav-Show" agency Taras Gavrylyak offers his management, what has become a great event in the band's history. From Terry's submission, at the beginning of autumn 1994 they came to Kiev, searching for a studio to record material for "Ptakhy"(The Birds) album. Album has been recorded in a week term on the NOVA Studio. January 1995 Skryabin took the first place with the song "Ptakhy" on Lviv's festival "Melodiya-95"(Melody-95). That became a precedent in the band's history and had a visible influence on establishment of Ukrainian youth's musical culture. Terry, as a band's manager, carried out the work on promotion of the recorded material in mass media. Already in spring 1995 he managed to release the "Ptakhy" cassete on "Eurostar" firm, and half a year later - the first band's CD with the same title on "Karavan-CD". For the second place, taken in the "12-2" hit-parade, they were presented with a vacuum-cleaner. This event touched them very much. On Lviv's Radio-Lux hit-parade "Ptakhy" became the champion by quantity of received votes. As a whole, album was very successful, what allowed the band to declare loudly about themselves. In July 1995 they took part in the great festival "Tavriyski Igry"(Tavria Games), by what they raised their rating on the banks of Dnipro's sea. January 1 1996 "Skryabin" signed the contract with production agency "NOVA" abou cooperation. That allowed recording the first satisfying with its quality material "Kazky"(The Tales). In July 1996 the band visited the "Tavria Games" festival for the second time, where they received the premium in the nomination "The best pop-group of the year". At the beginning of 1997 the band broke with its manager - Terry. It's certainly, that Terry's contribution into "Skryabin's" career is really very great, and it's a pity, that the incompatibility of characters didn't allow to work farther with him. From the New Year the contract with the "NOVA" - Studio continues. After the long break, the band renewed their solo concert activity. Some things from the previous albums could be heard on the concerts in special concert remixes. May 23 1997 the "Dines Trade" firm and its director Zhenya Burman were the sponsors of the first band's solo concert in Kiev. It lasted for 3 hours (!). On the "Tavria Games-97" "Skryabin" received the "Zolotaya Zhar-Ptytsya" in nomination "The most popular alternative band of the year". November 20 - the official day of "Spaty" studio opening in Kiev - "Skryabin's" dream about an own studio came true. Besides, they had their own program "Klitka" on "Radio Stolytsya". On their new studio the first album to record was "Tanets' Pingvina"(The dance of a penguin). It consisted of remixes on the songs from the previous albums, and two new versions of the very old songs. Then with this material and with "Greens Party Of Ukraine" support, Skryabin made a tour over Ukraine under the slogan "Let's Ave The Nature For Life". This event was certainly one of the greatest and best met events of 1998. With Kuzma, Roy and Shura were: Sanya Skryabin again, as a sound director, Vitaliy Kononov - the leader of the "Greens Party", and Julia Lord, with whom after the tour there was recorded the song "Foto/Brudna, yak Angel"{Photo/Dirty as an Angel}. From 1st till 4th August "Skryabin" again took part in "Tavriyski Igry", where they were the candidates in 7 nominations("The best alternative band"; "The best pop-group"; "The musical event of the year(the tour"Let's Ave Nature for Life")"; "The best album"(Tanets' Pingvina); "The best song"(Tanets' Pingvina); "The best video"(Tanets' Pingvina); and "The best singer"(Kuzma)) having set the next record. November 5th in "Klitka" a new song "Kley" could be heard and Rostik announced that the recording of the new album began. Two videos were made - at first "Foto/Brudna, Yak Angel" and "Kley" December 18 - the ceremony of delivering the premium took part in Kiev, and "Skryabin" won the award as a "Best pop group" February 15 1999 -the official date of "Hrobak's" release. May 30 "Skryabin" took part in a great concert devoted to Kiev's Day? In which some new songs were heard, and after which "Skryabin's" synthesizes were stolen. Having bought the new keyboards, the band took place in this year's "Tavria Games" August 13 - a live performance in the "Ne Vsi Vdoma" Studio, where people could hear new songs from the next two albums: "Technofight-1999" and "Stryptyz"(Striptease). Soon after that "Skryabin" goes to Canada and plays concerts in the biggest Canada's cities. There, they released the new single "Euterpa/Skryabin" - half of which consisted of Ukrainian folk songs in "Skryabin's" electronic arrangement. In this project also took part Julia Lord and Andrij Pidluzhniy(Known as Nichlava or Angel). At the end of 1999 "Skryabin" releases "Technofight-1999" and a new project "Nashe Rizdvo" with the same people + Taras Chubay from "Plach Yeremii" band as the main initiator. It was the project of Ukrainian Christmas songs in modern arrangement. Later it was followed by a project of Ukrainian partisan songs - "Nashe Rizdvo", of course, with the same people.
