Artist History
Y2K was the year that started it all. That was the year that a white Korean male named KJ, AKA Jin at the time, formed a musical dance group called 3J with his two full-blooded Korean best friends Jae and Jason. The group was in their teenage years and were multi talented by being able to break dance, play instruments, and sing and rap in two languages, English and Korean. For Jins goal, he wanted the group to be the first Korean boy group ever to make it big in the USA and to do something different with the music to be original in order to set them apart from other artists. To accomplish this goal Jin decided the group should perform in two languages on their CDs, both English and Korean and wanted to try to bring the popular music style of Korea known as Inky Gayo AKA K Pop popular to the States. Something many artists from Korea such as H.O.T have tried to do in the past but failed.
Later in 2001 3J started releasing singles to their local fans and friends for free while at hard work on their debut album, but during the making of the album Jins equipment in which he used to make the music with was stolen by a con artist and was battled out in court for almost a full year. In the end Jin lost the case and a lot of money, and by that time the group 3J had to separate to attend different colleges and the album was never completed.
In the late year of 2002, Jin was frustrated by his loss in court and by not finishing 3Js album so he decided to do something even bigger for a come back. After replacing his equipment with even better material and software, Jin started his own entertainment company called KJ Entertainment so he could start his own business in the entertainment industry and started working on his debut solo album as well, only this time a full English album because of the fact Korean was Jins second language and was rarely used by him. By that time Jin was now known as DJ KJ
The beginning of 2003 was the year the album was finally completed and released . Now fans of all ages and genders can experience what KJ hopes to be the future of music entertainment in the USA, THE ART OF K POP, The future is to be continued...
