Artist History
Guitarist and composer Bagher Moazen began studying the guitar under Abdullah Mofakhar, John During, Joseph Urshalimi, Timothy Walker and John W. Duarte. Bagher draws parallels between his own life experiences and that of a Nomad (title of his first CD). A nomadic life of travel from on home to the next, from Iran to England to Iran to Germany and now Canada, has clearly made an impact on Bagher's compositions and creative style. Magnificently rich melodies and exotic Eastern rhythms are masterfully interwoven creating a unique cross-pollination of music. The result is a sound that seemingly vocalizes the intter conflict of the displaced artist within, which by extension captures the social conscious of a people whose connection to art, literature and creative expression is deeply rooted in their land. |
