Artist description
TORQUE PHX's new-breed of metal is taking rock music to a higher level. The music is hard with extreme vocals and lyrics; powerful drums; loud guitars; complete with fat bass and evil keys to back it up. The band likes to use the term 'groovecore' to define their style.. |

Artist History
TORQUE PHX formed in January of 1999 and made a huge impact on the AZ local scene. They released their demo c.d. on Halloween of 1999 playing to a well over capacity crowd of 600 in Flagstaff, AZ. The band made it's presence known throughout Phoenix, Tempe, Flagstaff, Tucson and Kingman. Some of the bands TORQUE PHX has played with include: N17, 20 Dead Flower Children, Society One, Pissing Razors, Skinlab, Primer 55, Papa Roach, Biohazard, Slaves on Dope and more. Torque PHX continued playing numerous shows through May of 2000. Since then the band has been writing and recorded a full length c.d. at Mesa's Saltmine Recording Studio. Currently the band is working on getting their c.d. released, rehearsing their newly recorded material and plans to be playing shows again in the near future.
~~Updated: Mike Neve left the band in April of 2002. The band got a new singer and formed under the new name: ONE HIT KILL. /artists/509/one_hit_kill.html |

Press Reviews
from Coffinz - http://www.coffinz.com - These guys were voted one of Arizona's top bands by KUPD. The fansupport and CD back it up. It is only 5 tracks, but well worth it. Thelast track is an instrumental, but is as evil as it gets. I've played this CD so many times and still can't pick a favorite. What stood outto me were the brutal vocals and evil keyboards. But not to overlookthe rest of this band. It takes all 5 to make them one of the best bandsin Arizona. Look for more music from Torque because there gonna be aroundfor quite a while. They are a must see band who always have a greatsupporting acts around them. |
