    Artist History
The Failure Project has a long and illustrious history. B. Johnson had written a lot of songs in his bedroom. Mainly because he had no money or friends to occupy his time. J. Thompson (of Dorian, M'lod, and The Blue Party fame) heard some of these songs. He asked B. Johnson to open for Dorian. (Actually, B. Johnson asked J. Thompson, but that's not really that important).Well, B. Johnson didn't have a name for his little project. He figured he'd fail because he didn't prepare much for the show.So he called it The Failure Project. After the show (it was recorded, and released as Live at the CMC) J.Thompson took an interest in writing some songs with B. Johnson. They recorded them and released them as The American Airline Myth.J. Thompson is now an official member of The Failure Project. That's the history.

    Press Reviews
A review for the new album "Data Protected" from Ink 19 MagazineThe Failure ProjectData ProtectedAslanWhen did Tampa become such a lonely place? After all, with death metal and ska, you should never have an unhappy moment. Well, the Failure Project (B. Johnson and J. Thompson) take loneliness and despair to a new high. Not that that's a bad thing. Data Protected is the third effort from these two acoustic savants. It starts out with an electronically acoustified song called "Burnt My Tongue" (think Pinback). It leads into the hauntingly beautiful intro of "Victory" (think Elliott Smith, pre -Oscars). An ode to Satan and Jesus Christ called "Powerlines" follows. J. Thompson's voice has a raspy, almost Barlowish tone to it, whilst B's is higher and more fluid. The songs lead into each other beautifully, and although recorded on a 4-track, they sound surprisingly good. The rest of the songs are equally as good, there must have been a lot of raining going on when they wrote this album. Let's just hope they don't off themselves before anyone gets a chance to buy this album, and I hope people do....http://www.aslanrecords.com/failureprojectAaron Schultz
