    Artist description
This self-produced singer, songwriter and musician possesses a talent for creating multidimensional songs and aural landscapes..."Rich, layered, complex vocals against a crunchy, fleshed-out sound bring an introspective, sensitive, wise-beyond-its-years set to life." (AMZ) Lyrically, his compositions are reflective, confessional, thought provoking and fresh. On a musical level, Rye balances intricacy and simplicity with his melodies, and his songs are just as powerful when he performs with his full band as when he strips them down to bare vocals and acoustic guitar.

    Artist History
Rye has had a life-long passion for music and has been immersed in it since he was very young. This can be traced to his mother who was part of a successful vocal trio called The Crystalettes whose songs topped the charts in the sixties. The Crystalettes broke ground with their hit "Shy Guy" and were in fact one of the very first groups to be signed by Herb Alpert at A&M Records. Rye himself began recording and performing at the young age of 14. During his high school years he spent much of his time in the studio as a singer. After high school, while working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UC Irvine, he began to concentrate and refine his songwriting skills. His appetite and innate creativity inspired him to learn a variety of instruments on his own including guitar, bass and piano. As a natural progression he began to produce and arrange his own material. After his college experience he returned to Los Angeles to focus solely on writing and performing, and assembled a band of seasoned musicians including guitarist Bruce Watson (Christina Aguilera; Dave Koz) and bassist Lance Morrison (Alanis Morissette; Don Henley). Rye proceeded to showcase his music at a number of local venues including the Roxy Theater, Whiskey A Go Go and the House of Blues. Then, as the result of a nation-wide talent search held by VH1, Rye was named one of the "Top 10 Undiscovered Solo Artists" in the country. He subsequently had the #1 song out of 30,000 at Garageband.com and went on to win First Prize (Pop) out of more than 33,000 entries from more than 50 countries in the USA Songwriting Competition with his song "Overground". The very same song subsequently went on to reach celebrity-status when it was recorded by the legendary pop trio Three Dog Night and became one of only two new cuts on their latest release entitled "Three Dog Night: With the London Symphony Orchestra". This special album, which features the 2002 Grammy-Winning London Symphony Orchestra is truly a sublime recording that uniquely captures four decades of musical memories. At present, with more than ten years of experience under his belt, Rye has become tremendously sought-after not only as a singer and songwriter, but also as a producer and has produced a multitude of album projects for various songwriters, artists and groups at his Los Angeles recording studio. Keep an eye on this unique and powerful musical force!
