Artist History
Practically Einstein was formed in May of 1997 when Brad Pugh, then a solo artist, put an ad in the local Washington City Paper. Brad struggled to find fellow musicians in the area who enjoyed performing rock music with an unabashedly pop sound. When he finally crossed paths with drummer Dave Moran, and bassist Paul Schmidtke, a perfect match was made. Although the road to musical success has been anything but easy, the three, all transplants to the area, (Brad is from Charlottesville, VA, Dave is from Ann Arbor, MI, Paul is from New Orleans, LA), have been enjoying a steadily increasing and diversifying performing schedule since. The group remains hopelessly devoted to the idea that there is always a place for good songs in the industry. In August of 1998, Practically Einstein was able to release their first independently self-produced CD, "I Want To", and after strong positive feedback, hopes to get back into the studio in the near future... |
