Artist description
King Rat cuts varied influences, including classical, seventies rock, trip hop, and early new wave and pastes them into a psychic/electronic film sountrack. Using traditional rock stylings and both vintage and modern equipment - along with a modern sensibility and approach to music composition, King Rat attempts to bring something unique to "Electronica". Fuzz pedals and vintage synth tones, old records and modern sequencing, drum machines and electric guitars, all lend support in creating a sophisticated narrative of bright euphoria, dark mystery, grit, groove, and melancholy. The latest album "Spiked Punch & Bedtime Stories" is avilable in its entirety on IUMA and will be soon here at MP3.com and UBL.com. |

Press Reviews
"Breakbeats lead into piercing guitar lines reminiscent of Lenny Kravitz or any number of '60s icons, while the King himself (Rat, that is) leads the whole operation with some provocative grunts. Other tunes take a mellower approach with down-tempo strings-and-guitar grooves."-LISTEN.COM |
