Artist description
Dark Theory's music aims to please. Keeping hip-hop as an art form, they're not afraid to experiment with mixing up the beat, from soul to blues, reggae to rock. To them, blending is easy, and in fact, necessary. They describe their music as eclectic and offbeat - very similar to their personalities. And although they've been compared to the likes of Busta Rhymes and The Roots, their style and energy changes, cannot be replicated. |

Artist History
Back in 1992, rapper/producer Voodo gave rise to an explosive, mystical fusion: Dark Theory. Owing to musical intuition, he decided to assemble his solo artists, and start working on a series of group tracks. As a result, right from the outset, Voodo's chemistry, alongside The Mighty Quin, Simply Black, Peapod and Ptah (the group’s drummer and dancehall artist), was unmistakably simpatico. Add Calvin "The Truth" Wilds (bassist) and you've got a live underground hip-hop group that keeps the crowd moving. |
