    Artist History
RAVENCULT was formed in summer if 2001 with only aim to deliver serious and truly extreme music under the banner of Black Metal. After months of rehearsing they entered Live Studio (Athens) in order to record 4 tracks for their first demo. In February 2002, debut demo “Despise The Blindfold” was unleashed, consisting of four tracks with total time 20 mins approx. The result was a combination of old-school greek & scandinavian type of Black Metal, without keyboards or female vocals. The response to the demo was enthusiastic and very encouraging for the band, having very positive reviews from the worldwide press (be it international magazines or underground zines / webzines) and airplay from metal shows in various places. The band managed to spread 800 copies of “Despise The Blindfold”, give many interviews to the underground press and have the demo distributed in countries like USA, Romania, Finland, Italy, Chile, France, Portugal, Slovakia, Germany, Poland and many, many more. There was also a limited edition tape pressing in 300 copies which is now completely sold-out. The band intentionally did not send any promos to labels because the demo was released to make the first step to the underground scene and make their name known in the first place. In the meantime RAVENCULT gave many live shows to present their material on stage. Some of them were given as support to bands like Rotting Christ, Deviser etc. Live shows were done not only in Athens but also in the greek country. The response was very good and that helped the band built a strong name in the underground. In March 2003, RAVENCULT entered Fragile Sound Studio (Athens) to record their second demo entitled “Cosmic Chaos”. One month later, “Cosmic Chaos” is available again in CD and limited edition tape version (in 300 hand-numbered copies). The result is now a roaring mixture of fast black metal and barbaric old-school deathrash in few parts. Again the music is played solely by classic metal instruments (guitar / bass / drums). This release will also work as promo material for labels. The band is currently seeking a reliable record label to sign in order to record & release their first full-length album in the next year. Also new live shows are being scheduled since the band is definitely able to perform live anytime, anywhere. The band’s logo that appears on their covers is created by infamous underground artist Cristophe Szpajdel (also known for his work drawing logos for Emperor, Enthroned, Avatar, Graveland etc). Current RAVENCULT line-up is Jim (vocals), Stefanos (guitar), Kostas (bass), Konstantinos (drums). More... undefined [Close] undefined [Close] undefined
