OUTSHINE
“Biography”
Energy, Creativity, Diversity…These have all been trademarks of the band Outshine from the very beginning of their 7 year tenure. From playing small bars, showcases, and numerous competitions to larger clubs and festivals " Outshine " is rapidly emerging as one of the most solid musical forces on the Atlanta club circuit.
With influences such as: Incubus, Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Live, Outshine has a unique blend of hammering guitars and melodic, thought provoking lyrics. The crazed stage antics, energy, and emotion of front man Jeremy Sutton will certainly keep you riveted. Add in the string pounding of guitarist/backing vocalist Jake Kitchen, the strong yet fluid lead guitar riffs of BJ Dressler, the funky slapping of bassist/backing vocalist Gregg Katz, and the thundering hits of drummer/backing vocalist Rodney "Lightning Rod" Beaubouef for the most exciting group of songwriter/performers to ever rise from the Atlanta music scene.
Outshine has spent the last year polishing and perfecting their music and live show. Whether it's the repressed childhood angst of "Tremble", the quiet rage of the broken "Promise", or their tripped out version of "Your Love" by the Outfield. One hundred percent of the band’s heart and passion goes in to each and every show and song. "We want every person to feel as much a part of our music as we do. Music is a tool for communication, and we want our fans to know exactly what we're saying and feeling so they can relate to it", says front man J. Sutton.
Outshine has recently been completing their full length CD at Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta with producers Huston Singletary and Russ-T Cobb. Poised on the brink the band is rapidly expanding its local audience from greater Atlanta to all over the Southeast. Some the band’s accomplishments include:
Finished in the top 10 out of 3000 bands in the National Universal Competition.
‘Pushing’ reached #4 out of over 6000 rock songs on garageband.com.
Winner of the "Top of the Tree II" competition at CJ's Landing.
Performed at Atlantis Music Conference 2001 and 2002. (Selected for Atlantis compilation CD 2001)
Selected for Bacardi Southeastern Talent compilation CD 2001.
Sponsored by Durex Brand Condoms and Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Opened for Stuck Mojo and Rehab during sold out shows.
First unsigned band to be placed in regular rotation on www.atlantabluesky.com radio. (In July Outshine’s “Pushing “ became the most requested song in ABS history, and "Tremble" remains in the top ten requests")
