Artist description
Drum Muscles is a music project of a different variety...
It is music that was composed over a distance of over 5,000
nautical miles between two people who never saw eachother
during the production. One member sent collections of words,
and ideas to his friend in Europe and then the friend turned
around and wrote chord progressions over those words and ideas
then sent the files back to his friend in America to finish with
adding other instruments besides guitar and ultimately doing the
final mix down and mastering in the absence of the person who
wrote the songs. |

Artist History
Drum Muscles started in 2003 as a side project of
two Rowntree Records bands, Kitchen Typists and
Red Queen Hypothesis. During the Great Red Queen
Hiatus of 2003 Drum Muscles wriggled its way out
of the dungeon known as Katie Ames' brain. She
worked on complex series of thoughts, images and
ideas and sent them to Baxter McGee in Europe to
rework into rough songs. After Baxter spit out 8
songs in a few days he sent the files back to Katie
in America for her to finalize. This has turned out
to be a great way to work and exchange ideas and Drum
Muscles is a side project that Red Queen Hypothesis
will keep going on for quite a long while... |
