Artist History
Snow and Lights formed in late August 2002 with the intention of writing intense, emotional and heavy music, the plan was to have a few practices and see what happened. Within those few practices it became obvious that, although all members had other, academic priorities, the band was something worth taking seriously. Emile and Adrian had previously been in bands together since as far back as the summer of 1999 and had already got a few ideas as to where the band was going to fit musically, Jason was a friend of the two and proved to be a valuable addition in the preliminary jamming stages. The unnamed group managed to find Steve through the familiar ‘friend of a friend’ scenario and he was immediately able to add his talent to the songs already composed by the joining members.
The songs written pre-band were, however, soon scrapped in favour of a new lot of songs orchestrated with the whole band present, unanimously felt to be far superior. The writing process was simple, Adrian would write a few ideas down and bring them to practice where the song would be constructed by the whole band and the other instuments added in, Emile would then add some pre-written lyrics that would fit the feel of the song. The band are currently fine-touching their set and hope to play a fair amount of shows during the summer, plans for a self-released and limited EP are also in the works.

Press Reviews
I like the name Snow and Lights, not sure why but it seems to work.
"Chernobyl" opens up with jangling, discordant guitars, and quite a disturbing half snarled, half shrieked vocal, before after just over a minute, nicer, more twee sounding chords and a singier vocal continue. Despite the quite raw and almost ropey production, the song works pretty well, in its half chaotic nature, there are some pretty big sections, becoming pretty harsh and noisy at times, but all is played pretty tight, and there are some clever little subtleties here and there. Only down side is that the song just seems to end, without a logical ending, certainly could have been extended on a bit more.
"Waterfall" has a slightly different sounding production, guitars are pretty lost in amongst bass and fuss, but the song is pretty psychotic still. I am hearing Skycamefalling, Will Haven (early), Daemons Jaded Passion, Drowningman of old to a small extend, Swing Kids, and there are some nice eastern influences in the melodies, definitely a plus point in my ears.
A couple of very good songs, and Snow and Lights definitely should be watched out for over the coming future times, if they can piece together a really solid EP and get a good production it could well catapult them into something incredible.
